San Miguel de Sarapiquí, District 14 of Alajuela. San Miguel and its surroundings are known as the Paradise for kayaking and rafting since there are many rivers that meander through this region.
San Miguel Volunteer group is a community-based organization that aids the community and serves as a trigger in the revitalization of the region, the creation of volunteer opportunities and collaboration to plan and carry out Projects that are beneficial to the community, together with the community.
Our attention is focused on education and the sharing of information by transmitting knowledge, for the volunteers as well as for the community. The programs are related to the areas of healthcare, economic solidarity, support of the local businesses, education, ecotourism, foreign languages and the conservation of the environment.
Our volunteer Program is flexible since the persons involved in supervising them are the directors of the different beneficiary institutions. It depends on the knowledge, skills and time the volunteer wishes to invest in our community.
[info]Those interested should send a request indicating the selected program to our offices in San José, Costa Rica, directed to Isaac Alfaro, Coordinator, or contact us by phone at (506) 22-90-86-51 / (506) 87-25-70-00; or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org [/info]

In 1998 I was with the Milwaukee Public Museum in the Tirimbina area of the Serapiqui.
In 2008 I returned to volunteer for 90 days in a neighboring very related area of the Serapiqui. We hiked daily and frequently visited the cabin area the museum was housed in.
I want to volunteer again.
I want to observe the Tirinbina. Help teaching. Observe Tree growth. Observe animal/ insect/ flora and fauna habilitation. I was a registered, Certified Dietitian. I can help teach nutrition. Can you tell me what I would pay for this trip. Housing costs? Will you transport me from San Jose? I need specifics.
